Fifteen miles from Olympia.

The far end of the service area, and the stays it suits are the long ones.

The Drive

Does The Pet Brigade take bookings from Olympia?

Yes. It is about 15 miles and a 22 minute drive from Olympia to The Pet Brigade on Joint Base Lewis-McChord. At that distance the honest answer is that it suits longer stays rather than a daily daycare habit, and their long-stay work is what the kennel was built around.

Why People Here Book

What makes it worth passing closer kennels?

Long stays are routine here rather than negotiated. The Pet Brigade has boarded through deployments since 2008, dispenses medication at no extra cost, keeps multi-pet households together in family quarters, and holds a 4.7 rating across 622 Google reviews. For a three-week stay that matters more than nine miles.

Olympia Questions

What Olympia households ask before booking?

Every question below arrived through The Pet Brigade's own contact form between May and September 2026, and the answers come from their published rates, hours, vaccination policy and service pages rather than from guesswork. They apply the same whether you drive the 14.9 miles in from Olympia or you already live on post.

How much does boarding cost?

Dogs are $53 a night for the first dog and $50 for each additional dog. Cats are $37 for the first and $35 for each additional. An intact pet is $5 more a night, and holidays are $10 more per pet. A night runs from drop off until noon the following day. Full rates are on the rates page.

Can you give my pet medication?

Yes, and there is no extra charge for it. Bring the medication in its own packaging with the dosing written down, and tell the office at drop off. Both owners are registered nurses, which is a large part of why the kennel is run the way it is.

I have three dogs. Can they board together, and do they get outside?

Yes to both. Family quarters are larger kennels for households with more than one pet, so dogs who live together can stay together. Every dog is outside for fresh air whenever they are not sleeping in their bunk, and the day includes community play time, walk time and, in summer, the pools.

Can my dog stay over a Sunday?

Pets stay through the weekend. What closes on Sunday is drop off and pick up: the published hours are Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm and Saturday 9-10am or 4-5pm, with Sunday closed to both.

Can you collect my pet?

Yes. They run their own transport van to and from the airport, veterinary appointments, local area housing, JBLM lodging, daycare and grooming appointments. It was built for exactly the weeks when a family is changing duty stations or deploying. Transport is booked by phone, not online.
